Hi all,
Based on the previous discussion [1], I would like to call a vote to create
an official Apache IoTDB Rust client repository:
apache/iotdb-client-rust
If this proposal is approved:
1. The apache/iotdb-client-rust repository will be created under the Apache
organization.
2. The existing Rust client implementation [2] will be contributed as the
initial codebase after completing the applicable ASF provenance, license,
and IP-clearance requirements.
3. The client will be developed, maintained, and released through the normal
Apache IoTDB community process.
4. Xuan Wang will serve as the initial maintainer, while additional
contributors and maintainers will be encouraged from the community.
The discussion has covered the client’s functionality, compatibility scope,
code provenance, dependency licenses, maintenance plan, and API roadmap.
No blocking concerns have been raised.

[ ] -1 Do not approve (please provide the reason)
The vote will remain open for at least 72 hours.
Only votes from Apache IoTDB PMC members are binding, but all community
members are welcome to participate.
