Hi all, I'd like to propose that we stop publishing the following standalone binary distributions in future releases, along with their signatures and checksums:
- apache-iotdb-<version>-cli-bin.zip - apache-iotdb-<version>-confignode-bin.zip - apache-iotdb-<version>-datanode-bin.zip These components are already available in apache-iotdb-<version>-all-bin.zip, so users can use the all-in-one package and run the components they need. Taking 2.0.10 as an example, the CLI, ConfigNode, and DataNode packages are approximately 86 MB, 94 MB, and 113 MB respectively, while the all-in-one package is about 115 MB. The three standalone packages add roughly 294 MB per release, with substantial duplication. Consolidating these distributions would reduce release storage and the number of artifacts we need to package, sign, and verify. It would also simplify the download choices for users. Does anyone rely on these standalone packages or see any issues with using the all-in-one package instead? Looking forward to your feedback. Best regards, Haonan
