There were some clustering updates that went into the tree recently after JCR-623 was resolved, but Dominique probably knows better the current status. In general I'd recommend to always open new issues for specific problems you want to track. A feature issue like JCR-623 is good for bringing in the initial implementation of a new feature, but not for tracking evolutionary improvements like bug fixes. BR, Jukka Zitting
