Without knowing the performance characteristics of kXML or any other XML parser
library out there, I suggest we should rather use a standardized way to parse
XML. If we come to the conclusion that parsing XML into a DOM is slow and a
pull-parser is better suited, then we should look into JSR 173
(javax.xml.stream aka StAX, part of Java 1.6). It looks like kXML will
eventually also support StAX in version 3.
