As discussed on dev@, it would be nice to generalize the execution statistics
mechanism we've recently been working on in JCR-3040 and related issues to a
generic jackrabbit-stats component.
I looked at the commons-monitoring sandbox component, but it looks pretty
overkill for our needs.
