I will be very interested in this. Can I do so by following the

before doing so?

No need an approval. Just follow the instruction in the CFP on that page and submit a session proposal. That's it.

Another thing: The thesis document contains quite a bit of
information(about Jackrabbit and JCR in general, not just the acm
implementation:)). I think it would be cool if it can be archive
somewhere(e.g on the wiki), in case if another student or anyone
interested wants to have a look for reference. IMO there aren't enough
docs on jackrabbit out there and its usually quite hard at the beginning
to get started. Or may be I can write something on the wiki focusing
just on the implementation, yes?

That would be great I can grant you write access to the Wiki [1] so you can publish any information that you think would be helpful for the general public. Just provide me with you desired username and I'll proceed.

kind regards,

        Dear Jackrabbit PMC and Community

Please join me in congratulate Alfusainey Jallow on the successful
completion of his master thesis at University of Fribourg
        (Switzerland)
        with the title

            JCR Access Control Management
An Implementation of the JCR AccessControlManager API for
        JCR Remoting

for which he received a mark of 5.5 (grading scheme from 1-6).
The work Alfusainey contributed to Jackrabbit finally allows us to
support access control management in the JCR remoting [0], which
unfortunately has been on hold for such a long time.

I would like to thank Alfusainey for his great contribution and
        definitely
hope he will continue taking an active part in Jackrabbit/Oak.

        Kind regards
        Angela
