Due to the size of website 
(https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/site/live) being almost 2GB it 
doesn't make sense to move that over to Git. OTOH 
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/site/trunk (i.e. the source 
containing the markup and assets) from which the JR2 part of the website is 
built is just 7MB.
