Hi All, I had a good chat with Ross Gardler [1], President of the ASF and Senior Tech Evangelist for MS Open Tech, after my intro to jclouds session. A couple of interesting things resulted from that conversation.
Did you know that ASF committers can get an MSDN subscription for free? This gives $200 per month of Azure time. Sign up here [2]. MS Open Tech can potentially offer resources to add support for MS tech into open source projects. This could mean support for Azure compute in jclouds. The best way forward is to provide Ross with a one-pager on what we see as the highest priority work. What needs to be done, why and what would the benefits to both jclouds and MS be. The natural fit seems to be adding support for Azure Compute and adding it to the ComputeService interface. Any other thoughts on this? Does anyone want to take a crack at such a one-pager?
