the "run/backups" directory, and that is not web accessible (security). The file name is generated by Fuseki and is a timestamp.

And another thing :) Also thinking about the backup task specifically,
if the user sets a slow backup running, closes the server control
page, then comes back later, I can lookup in /$/tasks to see which
tasks are active or complete. But is there a way that I can show
whether dataset /foo currently has a running backup, or a recently
completed one?

That's a reasonable thing to want but it's not done. I'll add it to my ToDo list.
