   **This is a known limitation of the test on Linux** when running as __root__ 
(or with equivalent capabilities). The `File.setWritable(false)` call marks the 
file read-only at the filesystem level, but root can bypass file permission 
checks and write to it anyway, so the `StringToFile` function succeeds where 
the test expects it to fail.
   
   Are you running `./gradlew test` as the `root` user (or via `sudo`)? If so, 
re-run as a non-root user and the test should pass.
   
   Running build/test processes as root is not recommended and is not a 
supported configuration. This is not a defect in JMeter itself.
