Ok, I think that update for the website is there. I did check on the sha256/sha512 policy. The email I had in August looked like both were needed, but looking at https://www.apache.org/dev/release-distribution, it looks like its an "and/or":
"SHOULD supply a SHA-256 and/or SHA-512 checksum file" I'm ok with dropping the .sha256 files.
