Repeatedly getting ScriptEngine causes (NameError) uninitialized constant
#<Class:0x.........>::ARGV
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JRUBY-5734
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-5734
Project: JRuby
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Embedding
Affects Versions: JRuby 1.6.1
Environment: Mac OS X, 10.6.7
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3326)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.1-b03-307, mixed mode)
Reporter: Damian Steer
Taken from [this stackoverflow
report|http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5705737/jruby-1-6-1-const-missing-error-depending-on-factory-getenginebynamejruby]:
{code:java}
ScriptEngineManager factory = new ScriptEngineManager();
for (int i = 0; i < 10000; i++) {
System.out.println(i);
ScriptEngine engine = factory.getEngineByName("jruby");
engine.eval("puts 'hello'");
}
{code}
Eventually fails with:
{code:java}
NameError: uninitialized constant #<Class:0x116ad339b>::ARGV
{code}
(Clearly this code isn't good practice, but I was bitten by this in tests)
