And the answer is: JAVA_OPTS. If you have a JAVA_OPTS set for some other
application, it is possible to have overlapping settings such that this failure
occurs:
[junit] Error occurred during initialization of VM
[junit] Incompatible minimum and maximum heap sizes specified
