Tried with the current code (master plus an unrelated parser change, Tomcat
10.1, Chrome, plain editor) on a page of 12 sections with different heading
levels, including a section with a preformatted block that has lines starting
with two and three exclamation marks, a section with the TableOfContents plugin
and a section with blank lines. Opening the editor for each section number from
0 to 7 and for 11, the text area holds the whole text of that section, from its
heading up to the next one, and none is cut. The preformatted block does not
count as sections. On the view page the edit links go to section=0 to
section=11 in the order of the headings, and the heading of the table of
contents has no link, so none of them jumps to another section.
Limits: it is my own page and not the one of the report, which had sensitive
data; sections 8 to 10 were checked only through their links, not by opening
the editor; and the selection box on the left of the report does not exist in
the current template. The comment of 2014 already could not reproduce it. I
leave the issue open for the reporter to say whether it still happens.
