Arturo Bernal commented on JSPWIKI-1065:
----------------------------------------
Reproduced with the current code (upstream master), using the test engine. I
made a page with the TableOfContents plugin, one heading and the InsertPage
plugin for a second page that has two headings. The table of contents of the
saved page lists only the heading of the host page. The body of the same page
does contain the two headings of the inserted page, inside the block of the
inserted page and with ids that start with section-ChildP, so those headings
are in the page but not in the list.
I ran the same check on the branch of pull request 558 (JSPWIKI-584, which
makes the table of contents read the text that is being rendered) and the list
is the same, so that change does not affect this report. The cause is the one
Alex wrote in 2025: the plugin reads the markup of the page and the plugins in
it, such as InsertPage, are not run when it does so.
Limits: one level of inclusion and one inserted page, and the test engine, not
a browser. Leaving the issue open.
> Inserted page content is not included in table of contents
