Arturo Bernal commented on JSPWIKI-417:
---------------------------------------
Checked on the current master (3.0.1-SNAPSHOT) with a unit test, only the part
that can be measured in a unit test. With three pages saved, a wiki feed in RSS
2.0 built from the recent changes has 3 items; after one of the pages is
deleted, getRecentChanges() no longer returns it and a feed built then has 2
items.
This does not cover what the report describes: the feed file that the wiki
writes to disk (jspwiki.rss.fileName) and the feed that a reader has already
downloaded. I did not check when that file is refreshed, so I cannot say
whether the deleted page stays in it. Janne's remark of 2008 still applies: a
client that already fetched the feed cannot be told about the removal in RSS.

> I'd like to put the following idea up for discussion:
> On jspwiki.org, very often pages are created, but deleted a short time
> afterwards by some admins. However, the corresponding entry remains in the
> feed until next refresh. When opening it, the user is presented the "page
> doesn't exist" page. What do you think about triggering a feed refresh upon
> page deletion?
