You might be thinking of the 0.8 quick start
http://kafka.apache.org/documentation.html#quickstart which in 0.8 uses the
broker-list instead of zookeeper and has the --broker-list param. 0.7 uses
zookeeper for producing messages and is a required param for 0.7 as per the
quick start
