Hi all, I would like to start a vote on KIP-1274 that proposes a path towards the deprecation and removal of the Classic rebalance protocol in the KafkaConsumer.
The KIP proposes a phased long-term plan, starting with recommendations to upgrade to the generally available Consumer protocol, and having the main deprecation and removal changes taking place in the next major releases.
