Erik Skytthe created KAFKA-20517:
------------------------------------

             Summary: Kafka 4.1 upgrade docs missing server upgrade procedure
under 4.1.0 heading
                 Key: KAFKA-20517
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-20517
             Project: Kafka
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: documentation
    Affects Versions: 4.1.2, 4.1.1, 4.1.0
            Reporter: Erik Skytthe

On the Kafka 4.1 upgrade page, the section:

{{Upgrading Servers to 4.1.0 from any version 3.3.x through 4.0.x}}

appears only as a heading and contains no actual upgrade steps. The page
continues directly with:

{{Notable changes in 4.1.0}}

This looks like a documentation omission.

For comparison, the 4.0.1 section on the same page does include upgrade
instructions.

*Rolling upgrade?*

Is it possible to make a rolling upgrade from ver. 3.9.x to 4.1.2? And if it
is, what options do _bin/kafka-features.sh_ then need?

Erik
