One random thought is that by doing so we will always be running the
de-/re-compression at message receipt right? We have been discussing about
possibilities to reduce multiple copies or de-/re-compress in Kafka
(KAFKA-527), and I think the de-/re-compression can actually be done at least
for reassigning message offsets.
