[~bharatviswa] But you still need to modify things in the producer or consumer
properties anyway since, afaict, none of the security options can work without
setting additional properties. Why make `security.protocol` first class if you
still have to specify additional configs in a producer/consumer properties
file. In that case using it this way actually *adds* overhead rather than
removing it.
