MINOR: Simplify log cleaner and fix compiler warnings
- Simplify LogCleaner.cleanSegments and add comment regarding thread
unsafe usage of `LogSegment.append`. This was a result of investigating
KAFKA-4972.
- Fix compiler warnings.
