1. is it a custom karaf distribution ? No 2. do you have a customized etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg (especially calling an "external" log4j2.xml) ? Yes This line was added in org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg org.ops4j.pax.logging.log4j2.config.file=etc/log4j2.xml The log4j2.xml attached. l log4j2.xml <http://karaf.922171.n3.nabble.com/file/t498195/log4j2.xml> please suggest what caused this and how to come out of it.
