Sure :-) I’m deeply involved in Industrial IoT … mainly in Apache PLC4X (Universal adapter for communicating with industrial hardware) and Apache IoTDB (IoT Time-Series Database).
I’ve come across way more use-cases, where a simple rule-engine would have solved many tasks in the automation industry. Apache IoTDB is currently working on building a platform to run logic on the (stream of) incoming data and the data inside the DB. Being albe to run Drules rules inside the DB could be a super easy solution for many of these use-cases. Streampipes is a UI centric platform for processing streams of data … being able to react to information passing along on these streams, could also be a very powerful tool.
