Larry McCay commented on KNOX-841:
----------------------------------

[~rding] - I think that you are proposing the following:

1. create a new service def for SOLRUI for new UI
2. create a new version of SOLR API service def in the existing solr directory

This approach seems to gel with the precedence set by other definitions.

My one question is whether the solr API definition that is already there is no
longer sufficient.
Most often even though the release version has changed the rewrite rules don't
need updating as long as the root contexts are the same and there are no
incompatible changes.

If we need a separate version for backward compatibility then that's fine if
not then we may get away with just #1 above. Also, #1 above and just additions
to the existing solr def may be possible.

Let's figure out exactly what is needed here so we can close down for 0.12.0.

thanks!
