The Apache Knox team is proud to announce the release of Apache Knox 1.0.0!
Apache Knox is a REST API Gateway for providing secure access to the data and processing resources of Hadoop clusters. More details on Apache Knox can be found at: http://knox.apache.org/ The release bits are available at: http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/knox/1.0.0 <http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/knox/0.13.0> The change list is in the CHANGES file in the above directory. This release is largely the same as the 0.14.0 with a handful of bug fixes and a rounding out of the Service Discovery and Topology Generation feature. It has repackaged all of the classes into a more appropriate package name for the project for the marking of 1.0.0 release. This may present some issues for anyone that has extended classes with the previous package name which is why the 0.14.0 release represents largely the same feature set. This is a milestone release for the Knox community as the package renaming is behind us which had some potential for backward compatibility issues. There has been some care taken to provide adapter classes for the most common classes that may have been extended or referenced from within configuration or topology files. Any use of the previous package name should be considered deprecated at this point. We would like to thank all contributors who made the release possible and to invite others interested in helping out to engage the community on the dev and users lists!
