One thought here is whether you want to do this in Knox or engage with the 
Bigtop guys, since they do packaging for all things Hadoop.  It's fine if you 
want it in Knox, I just wanted to let you know of the option.  They'll build 
packages for most packages of Linux you've heard of (and I few I'd never heard 
of before), which can be nice as you're not stuck doing testing against all the 
different flavors.
