Larry McCay commented on KNOX-38:
---------------------------------
Just to be clear, this issue is describing a scenario where the LDAP hostname
was incorrectly pointed to sandbox or a VM. So, authentication fails due to
connection timeout to the LDAP server - correct? I'm not sure how much we get
out of the Shiro filter for this situation - I will look.
> Authentication failure via Shiro/LDAP/BasicAuth doesn't produce diagnostic
> output when misconfigured

> I had the hostname wrong on the topology file. Authentication properly failed
> but had no idea why. I finally figured out that a global sub/rep of localhost
> to vm.local in the topology file caused the issue.
