Actually, I think the ODBC driver for Kylin with PowerBI/Excel is not a
perfect solution. Because Power BI/Excel tries to load data from Kylin to
memory for further analysis. When the data volume is huge, that will have a
big issue. The best solution is to pushdown the aggregation queries to the
underlying engine like Kylin (similar to Tableau's "live connection" mode),
only load the aggregated result to PB.

This feature was implemented in later's Power BI, and vendor like Kyligence
has developed the connector with MS, you can get some information from this
