Samurdhi Karunarathne commented on LENS-958:
--------------------------------------------
Hi Srikanth,
I'm Samurdhi Karunarathne and I'm a student at the Faculty of Engineering,
University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I have been following the Apache Lens
project for some time and I think this might be a very useful feature. So I'm
interested in pursuing this project for GSoC 2016. Hope you could give me some
pointers to get started.
Regards,
Samurdhi

> Currently report data produced by Lens is formatted as CSV and then delivered
> via email as a zip file. Optionally, we should have ability to integrate
> directly with cloud based sheet such as Google Sheets, which can be used to
> view, analyze and share these results. This will reduce friction for users by
> allowing them to slice & dice directly without having to move the data
> anywhere.
> Besides, we should allow users to put in templates and choose them while
> running a query. Then the result population will go against the template
> instead of a generic sheet. This can be used in very powerful ways by the
> users.
