Need :
1. The current Fact definition does not allow a fact to participate in multiple
cubes. For scenarios where the same fact needs to be queried in different
cubes, this would be a limitation.
2. Fact definition also doesn’t support filters to be applied on the fact data.
Considering the above two major requirements, a new entity called Virtual Fact
has been proposed.
Here is a brief overview about the features of Virtual fact :
1. Virtual fact extends a Fact.
2. It can belong to a different cube than its parent Fact Cube.
3. It can have additional filters which will be used in query rewriting.
