I just finished a lenya meta data generator for a customer and if we
start mixing stuff in e.g. dc then the meta data api would change and
the generator will not work as expected.

you cannot expect Lenya to apply to your specific personal or your customers needs.

That is the sentence that I should have written ;-). What is suggested
is *not* conform with our API. Please see the MetaData interface. I did
*not* apply specific personal needs I used the API that we have!

then I would say that the Lenya API is missing extensibility

I think if your generator isn't flexible enough that an additional
tag is being inserted, then I would say something is wrong.

It has nothing to do with flexibility but with the meta data API. All
supported by the API is supported by the generator.

ok

We need a better SOC in the metadata and mixing stuff is IMO
counterproductive.

it's not about mixing concerns, but rather about cleanly separating.
God didn't tell that DC is *the* metadata spec! And what if there is no
god anyway ...

lol

Anyway, we have custom and internal metadata as well, I just do not
understand that we need to add this in the dc.

what about "third-party metadata"?
