the stylesheet to process log.xml was much easier to write in xslt 2.0,
but it is certainly possible to do in a xslt 1.0 way.

log.xml only for certain revision and not every time for the whole lot?
by using the -r switch of svn log:
svn log -r 10000:50000 --xml
You may also specify a certain time span with the -r parameter,
see question below.
