Agreed. But it is not only the authoring area but without caching it is
hardly possbile to run a productive site with lenya.

+1 The authoring area is certainly too slow and our users complain about
that. But it is not only the authoring area! You can not use lenya live
without any form of caching mechanism. Therefore it is crucial to have a
caching module for the live sites. Performance issues should be
discussed during the hackathon.

I am not sure about that. Peronally I can live without WYSIWYG but
people who have to edit page within lenya will be happy to have a
