Hi Richard,

What direction should we take this project? Last summer we decided after releasing 2.0.3 we would up our Java version from 1.4 to something more modern. However, now 1.5 is no longer supported. I would prefer moving to 1.6. WDOT?

What is the status of 2.2? What work remains? Should we be focusing our effort on completing that?

So from everyone that responded, we're all good with moving to Java 1.6. Should we do that with 2.0.4, or should we create a 2.1 branch to migrate to Java 1.6? I would like to get to work on integrating Alexander's GSOC project into our current code base, and his code requires 1.5 at a minimum. This is one of my reasonings for moving our current code base.

I would prefer a 2.1 branch for the migration to Java 1.6 , because bug fixes may be necessary for the 2.0.3 release. In this case we can release 2.0.4 with Java 1.4
