Hello,
I'm submitting a presentation proposal for Apache Lenya. We were
directed to this meeting by Florent André.
Topic: Technical - Internet
Language: English
Duration: 40 minutes
Title: Introduction to Apache Lenya
Abstract:
Apache Lenya is a Java and XML based content management system
distributed by the Apache Software Foundation. The Apache Software
Foundation, established in 1999, oversees 138 Open Source projects with
over 2,000 committters. Lenya uses Apache Cocoon at its core, which
provides great flexibility. The talk will cover the history of the
project, current status, features, and usage.
Since Lenya is XML based, it is able to take arbitrary XML and transform
it as necessary into other formats, including XHTML, via XSLT. This talk
will cover examples of this use.
Main features include:
- Support for a variety of WYSIWYG Editors
- Default support for revisioning
- Customizable workflow engine
- Internationalization support
- Clean URLs
- Uses XSLT for templating
- Publication templating
The talk will conclude with future directions for the project.
