Hi everyone,

I am a Masters student at the University of Waterloo in Canada and I am
currently doing research related to databases in the cloud. I am also
taking a related advanced level course for database in cloud computing
environments this semester (
http://www.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~ashraf/teaching/12Wcs848/). My homepage is
http://cs.uwaterloo.ca/~t2rafiq/.

I've been looking for cloud related projects in GSOC 2012 and Libcloud
caught my attention. I'm really interested in working on issue 168 of
Libcloud (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LIBCLOUD-168) as my project
for GSOC this year. I think it's very relevant to my research area and I
have the necessary skills to work on the project.

Can someone give me some pointers on how to get started with the project
and also with proposal preparation? Are there any potential mentors who
would be willing to work with me on this project? I know there is little
time before the application period ends, but I'll do the best I can.

Thanks,
