Hi all

Daniel Naber (Hi daniel) reported that using thesaurus V1 in OOo 2 lead to crash. He opened a bug report and proposed a patch
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=44163
No update on it ...

I'm actually writing DicOOo2 and raises the question for the thesaurus presentation to users so that it is unambiguous between V1 and V2

I can detect OOo version, so i can present different list depending on this version to users

First the actual naming of the new thesaurus files is IMHO not so good
the "-new" is added is added to the name. It is not explicit. i would see some "-V2" string. (What happens if we have an other change, a -new-new suffix ? ;)

For DicOOo, I need a list. Actually, it uses thesavail.lst, listing all V1 thesaurus. There is 2 ways for handling V2 thesaurus

- Continue to use this list and it's DicOOo work to manage, regarding filename, finding the thesaurus version - Dangerous and not clean IMHO

- create a new thesavail2.lst file listing only OOo2.0 compatible thesaurus. I think this is more clean

Any opinion ?

Laurent
