Dear Mr. Hendricks and Mr. Holt,

I am a professor of English and linguistics, and I would like to join any effort that OOo starts in producing a grammar checker for the OOo project.  My training is in linguistics, so I see my contribution as being a content specialist regarding syntax and usage problems in English and other languages supported by OOo as well.

I can not code; however, I have good knowledge of web related scripting languages (_javascript_ and perl primarily) and presentation languages (CSS and HTML).  Furthermore, I have been a tester of "nightlies" for the Mozilla organization for years.  I mention these things only to say that I have an understanding of the issues coder writers face when building a program, and though I can't write code myself (well not in C languages anyway), I can read and understand a lot of C code.

I know that a grammar checker is a "wish" project for OOo, but if you would like the services of a content specialist who understands the constraints and issues surrounding coding, I happily volunteer my services.

Regards,

Daniel
