The issue with Grammar Checkers in OOo is that they are currently
implemented as Macros.

You can always beta test the English Language Grammar Checker for OOo.
[ IIRC, it uses American English, not British English --- there really
should be one for both languages.]

AFAIK, the specs for a grammar checking API have _not_ been written.
Work on that was scheduled to start in August or September of 2005,
_unless_ a working and workable proposal/specification was submitted
prior to that.
