Hi, (and fyi Martin abd Louis)
I will be away traveling in the States for about 10 days. When I get
back we can talk to OOo/Sun and get you CVS access so that you can
take over maintainer-ship of lingucomponent and start to integrate in
your more advanced spell checking system.
Please file an Issuzilla Issue requesting CVS write access to
lingucomponent and assign the issue to Martin Hollmichel (who I think
represents the independent developers doing porting and whatnot) and
add me as CC. I have CC'd him directly with this mail so that he
knows what is going on.
Since the lingucomponent project does not ship with Sun's StarOffice
(it only ships with OOo), we should be able to integrate it in
without impacting any release dates for StarOffice, and OOo. Even if
it does not make it into OOo 2.0 we can certainly integrate it very
soon after the initial release.
Thanks for all of the work you have done on removing the main faults
of MySpell and making it into something much much better and for
agreeing to take over support.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi,
You have really grown past MySpell and fixed most of its main
faults. I am truly impressed.
Hi Kevin,
Thank you. I couldn't have made this without Myspell.
I am glad OpenOffice.org will be more better with our effort.
I think this is great and would love to replace Myspell with your
HunSpell officially in OOo if you are willing to make sure of the
following:
1. that MySpell users of current dictionaries still work as expected
with no changes under Hunspell
(i.e. unmunch the dictionary and spellcheck the universe and make
sure all words are properly identified as correct)
Indeed , I will check it. Unmunch is a good idea.
2. that you take over ownership of the lingucomponent project and
provide ongoing support, updates, etc
I like that.
I simply do not have adequate time to spend improving MySpell so
finding someone to actively maintain it and support it would be
wonderful.
Are you interested? Have you signed the OOo JCA? Do you have
commit
access to OOo?
Yes, I am very interested.
I have already signed the OOo JCA.
No, I haven't had commit access yet.
I'm testing Hunspell
I'm going to port the MAP suggestion features of MySpell, too.
It would be nice that Hunspell will be in OpenOffice.org 2.0
(with the new Summer of Code Grammar checker :)

Kevin
ps. if anyone is interested in taking over ownership of the US
english dictionary, the US thesaurus, and the thesaurus code please
let me know.

Hi!
We need more accurate, and more OpenOffice.org language resources.
Hunspell spell checker and morphological analyzer handles
languages with script writing, rich morphology and complex
compounding.
Please, try and comment Hunspell and Hunspell UNO component,
if you are interested in it or not: :)
