Hello,

First of all I'd like to apologize, if this mail was not sent to the
correct address or if something similar was already asked for.
Searching the archive gave me the impression that this is not the case
:).

I'd like to ask about the possibility to include an enhanced
spell-checking feature into OpenOffice.

All languages have words that were taken from other languages and
words with special scientific or technical meanings. Some of them have
proper replacement in native language, some don't. The problem is that
most of such words are in use for so long and sound so familiar, that
it is hard to recognize them. The problem is also that those words are
usually packed into one common dictionary. What I'd need is promptly
distinguishing between them, while typing and spell-checking a
document.

Proposition would be to enable *different color of wavy underlining
for different spell-check dictionaries*. If the basic dictionary would
use red and extended blue color, it would be very easy to distinguish
between different word categories. If the document is multilingual the
same rules apply e.g. red is basic, blue extended and <some other
color> biological.
An addition to this solution would be, if the spell checker could also
propose the replacement of words in extended dictionaries, with words
from basic one.

Every dictionary builder for every language, could prepare different
specialized dictionaries and connect possible replacements.

Thank you for your answer and also thank you for this great office suite.

Matej
