I am preparing a release of Java hyphenation code. Although not
officially released yet, the source may be obtained via anonymous CVS
from SourceForge, as follows:

 cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/defoe login
(press Enter for password).
 cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/defoe
co -P HyFo
(one line, of course).

HyFo offers pattern support for discretionary hyphens, with which you
will all be familiar. Currently, only the Hungarian hyphenation
patterns include such support, derived from Laci's work with OpenOffice.
(A few issues remain in the Hungarian support, for example with words
like Airbag(légzsák) and ajánlattevő(k). However, the level of support
is quite comprehensive.)

I would appreciate feedback from Hungarian users who might have a
requirement for Java hyphenation.

I am anxious to extend this support to languages like Dutch, Catalan and
Swedish. As with Hungarian, I can take the OpenOffice definition files
and convert them for HyFo.

Peter
