>- see footer for list info -< So link them to a cfm page with a cfContent tag (or whatever it is) to transfer the pdf?

Maybe send them a link to the download with a unique ID etc - which could match up in the DB so you know if that user can indeed download it legally. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Giles Sent: 24 February 2005 10:04 To: 'Coldfusion Development' Subject: [CF-Dev] SOT: e-books >- see footer for list info -< I've had a site selling books for a long time now but we now have our first pdf version of a book to go on the site. I'm just looking for a bit of advice. Is it a completely bad idea to just give them the download URL after they have ordered the book or should I try to mask / generate random url's after they have ordered and put a timeout on. Also the pdf is 4 MB - is that going to be too big for most people? It is a site that sells books on chickens - not likely to be a target of any hack attempt to download the book and then put it on any Warez site!! Just wondering what the standard practice is with this sort of thing.
