I used imageJ from benorama.com in the end - used it before, and it does
just about anything you could want to do with an image ;)

out of interest, how does CFFILE return the image dimensions?
I know it gets the file size, but I don't want that, I want
height and width.
As for JS, it's really a no-no...

Hmm, you could upload it using CFFILE and get the cffile
data from that
upload to get its size. You could also use Javascript I
believe, but
that would involve the image being loaded in the DOM.
