As you've said CFDEVCON is community driven and so is Scotch on the Rocks and the smaller events we have put on (ScotchOnAir to replace the canceled ONAIR Tour Date for Dublin) So with the said news that CFDEVCON had to be canceled, we spoke to a few of the speakers (some of whom were at SOTR 08) and the feeling was they would still like to present to the UK Community and as you can see from Sean's blog he is speaking at the DEVON CFUG and the Thames Valley CFUG. So to keep up the Anglo-American relations the SOTR Team thought it would be nice to bring together the US Speakers who have already committed to making the trip and give something to the community at low cost. Thus we have A We Dram. http://www.aweedram.com We really wanted CFDEVCON to succeed, but as we pointed out early on; 2008 was already full of CF Conferences, and of course September has enough going on in Brighton too. With a credit crunch to add companies just can't justify the spend on so many conferences.
