I haven't bought MX yet (although we have many earlier licenses). Anyone got a number at hand - okay I'm being lazy.

I can't even reinstall CF5. It seems that CFMX has just killed our development machine. Each install of MX misses out the C:\CFusionMX\runtime\lib\wsconfig\1 directory where jrun.dll is installed. If I just copy this from another machine and manually register in IIS, it still doesn't work. Arghhhh! What's annoying is that MX has eventually passed all other tests, but if I can't install it again I am screwed. Paolo -----Original Message----- From: Paolo Piponi [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 11 February 2003 10:53 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] CFMX install problem or is it monday morning blues I have discovered that after a CF5 uninstall, CFMX tries to install CF5 settings (including wrong dlls). This is appalling. However, I think the problem is a mixture of a bad CF5 uninstall and a bad MX install. I haven't fixed it yet but I am currently cleaning the registry before installing for the fifth time. Fortunately, when (if) we go live we'll setup a new machine, but it certainly doesn't help my confidence. The problem is that it is a good time to upgrade. If we don't do it now I probably won't have a chance again for a long time. I'll keep you informed if and how I fix it. Paolo -----Original Message----- From: Mark Smyth [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 11 February 2003 08:58 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] CFMX install problem or is it monday morning blues not 100% sure if this is related but its worth checking just for elimination Upgraded to MX last week, and I could use the administrator - but none of the individual websites were working. The old coldfusion 5 application mappings were left in (but with CF5 uninstalled nothing worked), so I had to remove them and put the new mappings in by hand. Then it all worked fine. Also, the JRun isapi filter must only need to be installed on the default website, subsequent websites created afterwords don't need it HTH Mark -----Original Message----- From: Paolo Piponi [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 10 February 2003 17:38 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] CFMX install problem or is it monday morning blues I might be on to something so am reinstalling. My installation of MX had a very important directory missing. The directory that contains jrun.dll??? Paolo -----Original Message----- From: Douglas Humphris [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 10 February 2003 16:28 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] CFMX install problem or is it monday morning blues I had a similar problem the other day...uninstalled CFMX and re-installed it. It was fine until I restarted the CF services and then all I got was "Page cannot be displayed". Haven't resolved this yet. Cheers, Douglas -----Original Message----- From: Paolo Piponi [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 10 February 2003 16:28 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [ cf-dev ] CFMX install problem or is it monday morning blues On a server that was previously CF5, I uninstalled CF5 and have just installed CFMX. However, it didn't work. Any .cfm page 'cannot be displayed'. Also when I look at the properties of a .cfm file, the type of the document is 'n' instead of 'CFM'. Any ideas? Note that IIS seems fine (home directory, document types, etc.) although the JRun ISAPI filter is not there.
