Or, get them to provide you a list of all the names that they don't want to
be entered.

Then just check the name entered isn't in the list provided.

You could also set up an admin tool so they could manage the names
themselves, it will provide what they want while leaving most of the work in
their court.

I think the only way you could do this would be to add a moderation stage
into your signup process, where a human has to confirm that the details are
valid.

There's no javascript in the world thats going to help you stop people
entering in 'Lord High Domokun of the Western Reaches' as a random name.
