Good point. shame the RNIB web site is itself inaccessible to many users of screen reader software (I know, 'cause the blind person I work with on accessibility for my flagship site tells me so. She's mentioned it to the RNIB several times, but they don't seem remotely interested in doing anything about it).
Even worse, the RNIB offers a kitemark for sites they've audited as being accessible - and for users of HAL screen reader (crap, buit some people use it. Why? WEll, why do some people use PCs, others Macs, other Linux...) can't access those sites either, so the RNIB's bad practise is spreading through the web. If anyone's interested I offer accessibility consultancy ;-) Ian W ----- Original Message ----- From: "stephen RAdams" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 9:54 AM Subject: [ cf-dev ] Website accessibility in the UK Recently the RNIB said that they were looking at about 1000 websites which they believed to discriminate again partially sighted or blind people. So it looks as though it's a good time to start looking into how we can make thee websites we work on more accessible. There is a great article on the A List Apart website about how to make our sites more accessible, might be well worth looking into this.
