I'm looking to get hold of some new mailserver software for a Windows 2003 box. I've been using TrueNorth Internet Anywhere mailserver on the NT box for 3 or 4 years now, and although its pretty good, it does lack a little in the antispam/antivirus area.

Anyone got any preferences or suggestions. As always, budget is a big point.

We've been using InFusion Mail Server for about 18 months and are happy with it. Being able to modify the behaviour of your mail system using CF templates is fantastic. I know that we could be using a variety of other open source systems to achieve the same result using other programming languages, but with IMS I know that a CF developer with some knowledge of Internet email systems should be able to fix any problems and even enhance the system (previous sysadmin experience is really not required, the docs are quite good).

I would confirm everything that Mark says. We use it and the Post SE version but it is in the SMTP side where it really comes into its own. As Mark says being able to control the behavior and logic of the smtp server using CF templates rather than a GUI makes it just about as flexible as it is possible to get.
